How do you get ink and other stains out of suede?

My roommate has a suede couch and I accidently ran an ink pen across one of the pillows. There is also a lot of dog hair on the couch... anyone know how to get that out?

Ink on suede is very tricky, basically you have re-dyed the leather and as suede is so open it will absorb any cleaning fluid that you put on there and draw the ink further in.

The best thing is a nubuck cloth which is sticky and will remove any ink that is sitting on the surface. Anything left after that is unlikely to be removeable.

It is always advisable to use a good suede protector like 'Waterstop' which will make cleaning easier in future and inhibit dirt and stains from being drawn into the leather.

Hairspray does work sometimes on pigmented leather but will make matters 10 times worse on suede and it will clog the surface up.

I hear rubbing alcohol works well. I used to clean parts at a ribbon factory with it.

Oxcy Clean, make a paste out of it let it sit. the TV commercial they show, really works!!! I used it on ink myself.
