Having trouble with attachment combs on clipper?

I bought an Oster clipper and it came with several length attachment combs. The clipper by itself works great but when I try to use any of the combs, the clipper jams up and pulls my dogs hair. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to correct this?

I can trim her without the combs but the length is so uneven that my dog looks like a mess. She is a cockapoo with poodle-like hair. I used to take her to Pet Co but they won't take her anymore now that she is 15 years old. I will have to find another place eventually.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

I never liked the attachments combs, I've had the same problem. You can order longer blades for your Oster clipper, 3F is the longest so far! Did you try going against the coat direction? and you have to do this several times! Unless your using a #15 blade (you have to brush out the coat first to get a better cut) then you have to come back with a pair of curved scissors to finish the cut... to even it out. I use a black rubber mat on my table and a dark colored wall to get a better view of the coat to even it out with the scissors! you can google Oster replacement blades to find all the sizes!

Go the the place that you bought it, and have them show you how to use the combs. Good luck!

Do you mean the guide blades that go on top of the clipper so you don't cut too short? I find that they will do that if the hair is tangled or really thick. If you can comb the hair first it really helps!
