Any vacuum cleaner experts out there?

If there is such a thing :) So here it is: my vacuums always seem to gradually lose suction. I have gone through so many this year, and it always happens dispite me doing my best to unclog them! Is there some maintenance thing I am missing here? I change filters, take them apart, but they always seem to lose suction, especially in the hose! I have a Labrador dog that sheds alot. Is this dog hair killing the vacuum? Anyone out there that can help me? Thanks! :)

I have 15 vacuums! Their are many vacuum Collectors, and i am one of them! I think it's the age of your vacuum thats killing it. I have one that i got about 5 years ago that worked grat when i got it. but now it's horrid at it. Sorry

If you are not using disposable bags in them then maybe you need to wash the bag. Other than that I don't know.

You need something like a broom handle, something long but not too big to fit in the hose. Unhook the hose and slide the end over the handle until it unclogs whatever is in it. If it's an upright, there's probably a hose that runs underneath to the power brush, it needs to be cleaned out too with something like a long bottle brush or similar item that you can put in the end of the hose. Even if it's getting clogged up, you should be able to clear any kind of clog and get the suction back to normal. I have to clean them out at the hotel where I work. Housekeepers always get them clogged up and bring them to me.

You need a DYSON!! Got one about 6 months ago and I'm telling you there's nothing like it. You need the one with the

beater bar that gets rid of pet hair without a problem. This

vac is the most awesome cleaner.....it makes cleaning a real breeze.....

I clean houses and do part time janitorial work. I have used most every brand of vacuum cleaner and I think the best one on the market is the Simplicity. They last a long time and have a good filtering system.

I have had my "Dyson" for 5 years now, and it has NOT lost ANY suction, at all. I have a big Retriever dog, who sheds badly too, and my "Dyson" picks up all his hair.
