I'm looking for a good quality handheld vacuum cleaner that won't die as soon as you remove it from the charger. It'll be used mostly for picking up dog hair, so it should be decently strong. Even one that isn't cordless is fine, as long as it's strong.

unfortunately, my experience with charger type vacuums is they just don't last. you might have to consider a old fashioned cord!! I have searched for years for one...no luck yet. if you do buy a corded one, consider one with a rolling brush, I own a dirt devil. It's just o.k. and very loud.
