The furminator is actually one of the best tools out there thats actually worth your money.I'm a dog groomer and I ordered one about a year ago,I now have 5 of them.My clients cannot believe how much the shedding on their dogs has decreased.I actually charge $20 on top of the grooming price to use this. This tool is amazing.my clients come in every 4 weekks religously to have this done, after the 4th time there is literally no shedding compared to how they shed before I'm not sayin by any means that it stop shedding 100%,but its definetly worth your money

Hmm I've never heard of the furminator until now. It looks convincing, but I would also like to know of someone who has used it!~

Serious answers only, has anyone ever gotten their dog furminated? Does it really work?

I am a groomer and I had never heard of the 'Furminator' before. Looks like it removes alot of the dead undercoat. I will definitely give it a try

wow a repackaged hand stripper at 3 times the price. Yes it will work, you have to be careful not to catch the skin on your Sharpei. You may want to just buy a hair stripper for 20-30 instead of speending 50 on the marketing hype around this one.

Does anyone have any advice on the proceedures to get my renters deposit back any associations?

left the duplex in exellent cond. steam cleaned the carpet put up new blinds, they said we couldn't have $$ back cause there was dog hair on carpet, you could see where pict. were hung because we smoke, and a mark on carpet that was pointed out when we 1st walked thru duplex before renting they never called back to set up final walkthru never retured calls from 4th of this month and this week phoned to say they are keeping my deposit they already got my $200 pet deposit and now my $300 deposit and I dont know what to do

Does anyone have any advice on the proceedures to get my renters deposit back any associations?

Did you fill out a "commencement checklist" when you moved in? You should have filled it out regarding the condition of the unit. Then you turn it in and they give you a copy. This protects you at move out if they say you did something that was damaged when you moved in.

They cannot hold your deposit for animal fur if they already kept your pet deposit. The items you mention in your question are normal "wear and tear" and they cannot hold your deposit for that......It is expected for "normal wear and tear" that the landlord cleans the carpet and paints at their expense, not yours.

Here is the big thing!!!!! Read your lease...Not everyone reads the lease close enough when they move in. There might be things in there that you agreed to that you forget......

If there is nothing in the lease I would send the management company a letter stating your case and tell them if you do not have your deposit returned in 10 days, you will have to call your attorney to take over.

rentings a drag. i always got my deposit back except for last year. they nickel and dimed us and i took pictures of the place the way we left it. if you steamed cleaned it its not going to cost them money to vacuum the carpet. theyre just trying to keep your money. call renters rights. renters have a lot of rights. it would be through your county.

Kenmore progressive vacuum cleaner!?

anyone own a kenmore progressive vacuum cleaner!? I am in the market for a really great vacuum, at a resonable price, (unlike dyson's)! i have read good and bad reviews on the progressive! I have a black lab and I need a great vaccum to get up all that dog hair! Please let me know what you think and also what kind of progressive you have! THANK YOU!

Kenmore progressive vacuum cleaner!?

I have a Progressive canister (sorry, couldn't find the model number) and it is terrible!! I have had many Kenmores in the past ...both canisters and uprights... and this is the first one that stinks! It blows more dog hair out the back vent than it picks up...the cord does not rewind properly...it sometimes shorts out depending on the way the hose connection is turned...

Would you pick birch or dark wood cabinets to redo a kitchen?

I am remodeling and am trying to decide between birch cabinets or dark wood cabinets. A lot of people have cherry right now--is it going out of style? I live in San Diego --in your opinion should I go with a lighter cabinet? My appliances are stainless steel and will stay. The countertops are white ceramic tile and also have to stay. Also am between a porcelain tile floor or an engineered wood floor. If I use the wood, should it match the cabinets? I am afraid a dark wood floor will show all my dog hair, and make the kitchen look small. What would you do?

Would you pick birch or dark wood cabinets to redo a kitchen?

With white tile counters and stainless, I'd opt for the birch. The dark wood would be too much contrast with white counters, in my opinion. The lighter birch wood with white and stainless would look awesome!

Tile on the floor would make your kitchen too "busy" if there is also tile on the counters. Way too many squares! A medium toned engineered wood floor is the better choice there. By medium, I mean darker than the birch, but lighter than walnut or mahogany. Maybe alder, maple, or oak? Hold the floor samples up to the birch and go with a nice easy on the eye contrast - not too dark, not as light as the birch. Medium :)

Cherry is pretty popular, but so common now it's not a big deal. Do what's best for your space and lighting. The birch, white, and medium floor would be very neutral and easy to sell if you get a new house. Best of luck in your decision! :)

Would you pick birch or dark wood cabinets to redo a kitchen?

dark wood.

Would you pick birch or dark wood cabinets to redo a kitchen?

The nicest kitchen I have seen has a colour called antique white. Just an off white! I imagine it was birch with that stain. It was gorgeous. A light kitchen is cheerier I find.

Would you pick birch or dark wood cabinets to redo a kitchen?

If I were you I would go with light wood for both floor and cabinets. The reason is that you want your kitchen to be light and bright.

Would you pick birch or dark wood cabinets to redo a kitchen?

I dont believe in going along with fashion, but I do believe in personal style.

If you like the dark wood cabinets and its your style, go for it! Dark wood can be pretty classy (light wood is starting to be a bit childish). Go for porcelain floor, to match the countertops, and this will avoid your dog's hair to show. And remember, painting 1 of the walls in a light color will help it look bigger.

Would you pick birch or dark wood cabinets to redo a kitchen?

I would go with birch....it is so beautiful. I don't like dark wood cabinets. That is just my opinion.

Would you pick birch or dark wood cabinets to redo a kitchen?

you are right! Dark will make the kitchen appear smaller. Birch is a good wood grain wise for the cabinets, if you like cherry, just keep it light.

Would you pick birch or dark wood cabinets to redo a kitchen?

The nice thing about birch, if and when you get tired of it, you don't need a whole new kitchen. A little bit of sanding and staining and you have a whole new kitchen for just pennies. (and a little elbow greese. Go for the wood floor. It will keep your kitchen Warm and inviting. you already have tile on the counter.

Would you pick birch or dark wood cabinets to redo a kitchen?

I would think that the birch would go better simply because of the white countertops. Cabinets and floors don't have to match...that's totally up to you and your style.

Would you pick birch or dark wood cabinets to redo a kitchen?

In general, a lighter wood will make the kitchen look bigger. It's better to have light wood if there aren't a lot of windows too. But sometimes dark wood goes really well with stainless steel appliances if you want a really modern look. It really depends on the size of your kitchen, how much light you have, and what style you are going for. You don't have to get cherry stain if you're not crazy about it, just because it's the "in" thing. You have to look at it everyday, right?

Also it might be good to consider your neighborhood. You don't want to over-do a kitchen with granite countertops and really expensive high end cabinets in a low income area, for example. But for San Diego, you probably want more high end stuff. If you're planning to sell the place in a few years, you might want to consider what appeals to the most people. I think most people would prefer the lighter wood, but you could ask some people who sell cabinets what their best sellers are.

I recently saw on tv (I think it was an episode of Flip That House) that someone said the wood floor doesn't have to match the cabinets. Personally that would bug me if both floor and cabinets were light wood but different, and they are pretty hard to match exactly I think. It will also make the cabinets stand out more if there is some contrast from the floor. Just be careful the grout for the tiles doesn't attract too much dirt and make it difficult to clean. Go with a pattern instead of plain white for the floor to disguise dirt.

As for birch, just be careful as it is a very soft wood, and might ding more easily than other types of wood like oak which is very hard and durable.

Personally, when I've saved enough money to redo my kitchen, I'm going with a light maple for the cabinets. My countertops are cheap white laminate, so I definitely want something that doesn't stain so easily. For my small condo, I think granite would be overdoing it though. Maybe some kind of corian or the new silestone. I have white appliances but I would want a new stainless steel sink. As for the floor, I'm fine with the neutral marble pattern laminate the previous owners picked out, so I'll probably leave it.

Would you pick birch or dark wood cabinets to redo a kitchen?

Go for the light wood it makes kitchens appear larger. Also when thinking about the floor have you ever considered bamboo flooring or cork. They are very in style at this moment and the bamboo is a very hard wood floor. It has a very interesting pattern in it also. Also since your appliances are stainless the lighter wood seems better. I had antique white in my kitchen with stainless appliances and loved it. Good Luck and happy redo.

Any natural, non-toxic rabbit repellants that work?

A friend is having trouble with rabbits eating her tulips. Here is what she has tried already: critter repellent, but they don't seem to mind. Hot sauce on the leaves (don't do this, but bunnys don't mind, and it kills the leaves),dog hair around the plants, garlic around the plants. Bear in mind that she has children and pets, so can't use anything toxic. Are there any home remedies or natural solutions to keep the rabbits out of her garden? Thanks!

Q: I am having trouble keeping rabbits from my shrubs and flowers. I have used liquid fence in the past. It seems to help, but it is so darned expensive. I read about using hot pepper spray on your Web site. Could you please e-mail your recipe for this spray? (e-mail reference)

A: Red cayenne, Jalapeno or habanera fresh peppers can be used in the preparation, but be careful if you use habanera because the capsaicin concentration is high enough to cause serious damage to the preparer! Jalapenos should be hot enough to keep the bunnies away. The quickest way to come up with a concoction is to take three fresh peppers and run them through a food processor with enough water added to create a liquid. Pour the liquid through a cheesecloth mesh into a glass quart jar. Add about 2 tablespoons of olive or other vegetable oil, a squirt of Elmer閳ユ獨 glue and a drop or two of liquid dishwashing detergent. Use one part of the concentration to 10 parts water. Shake well just before application. This should discourage the bunnies without hurting them. If not, then make the concentration stronger, to 30 percent, or just go up to the cayenne pepper for extra heat. Be sure to reapply after new growth appears or after a good rain.

Try sliced up Irish Spring. Yes, it sounds weird, but we have found that it works for deer who seem to love hostas.

Use hot pepper wax spray, is non toxic, or just leave dogs and cats outside at night.

Four suggestions:

1. If your friend lives anywhere near a zoo, tiger (or presumably any other big cat) dung. Of course, that might attract the kids as much as it repels the rabbits (and maybe her pets).

2. Companion planting: there are some plants like alliums (onion family) that repel certain animals by their smell, and by interplanting those with the tulips the rabbits might be put off. Unfortunately I don't know which ones work with rabbits.

3. An active, hunting cat will certainly keep the numbers down. However it might also bring home trophies.

4. A physical barrier, such as a fence. My father, a retired market gardener, discovered the hard way that to succeed with a rabbit-proof fence it must extend at least 18 inches under ground - any less, and the rabbits will simply dig under the fence.

Okay, take a deep breath and take everything one at a time. Just keep a positive attitude and go out there and make some friends, even if you are more shy its easy make friends with one of your kids parents and get all the help you can get. I dont know alot about the legal system but i know that it takes time put your mind away from that and focus on the things that matter. I hope the best for you all i can say is keep a chin up and there are people out there willing to help dont keep this all in it is too much of a burden!!!!

What do you say when its too much?

Hello, we all go through tough times not being rude to you or saying that your not having a rough but Ive had a hell of a lot worse, and you will be just fine. The way I handled things was one day at a time one step at a time, get the ball rolling, keep pestering those who misplaced your case, keep hassling SS to forward your papers be nice and persistent , you do have rights, use the Internet to find out what they are and how to go about it, I'm not familiar with social security in America(i assume that's where you are)You have yourself, so be strong and stick up for yourself when you have no one else to help you. Look at all the things you do have and appreciate them, however small they are. Ask a neighbour if you can borrow their vac *** , make them a cake and go over and ask, they can only say no,so ask the next neighbour.USe your time to help yourself instead of feeling sorry for yourself, and always keep smiling cause you never know who may be admiring you from afar . All the best to you !:)

What do you say when its too much?

Wow. I kinda feel your pain. I'm pretty much looking for an answer, too. My problem is not the same as your problem, but I have alot of stress, too. I know you don't want any religious answers, but the only thing that has kept me going is prayer. I am really pleasant person, most of the time. But lately, I'm having mood swings. I'm mean, I'm slacking on my work, then I'm depressed and trying to save the world (my company). I've had a lot of lows and lower lows. And I was wondering, when do you say something? When do you ask someone for help? I hate asking people for help and certainly don't want to seem mentally unstable or anything. Just hold on. PRAY! And one thing I know for sure. You absolutely ask for help before you do something detrimental to yourself or someone else. That could be anything from drinking to suicide. And remember that God never gives us more than we can handle. So as hard as it is, just know that you're strong enough. Take care of yourself.

What do you say when its too much?

well I hate to tell you this but it could be alot worse just be thankful for what you do have I always think about how bad off other people are and that makes me be grateful for the stuff I'm going through nd I have been through alot in my life time and I am only 24 I have lost two children 1at birth and the other at 8 months and have had 3 c-sections in 4 years my teeth are horrible and I'm trying to go to college with 3 kids I have to move out of my house in 11 days and haven't found a place yet and haven't got sleep in 3 days so trust me I feel for you just take it one mental breakdown at a time you will make it through it just think tomorrow is another day and it could be the day everything turns around so I wish you luck just have hope it wouldn't happen if it's not supposed to it just makes you a stronger person

What do you say when its too much?

Anyone on this site could write a paragraph about what is bad in their life. What you probably need to do is keep as good of a record of the things that go right, and the things that are good in your life. You seem to have documented even the smallest thing that went wrong, so now start doing the same for even the smallest thing that goes right. You will usualy find that there are more good things than bad in your life. Always be thankful for what you have, not bitter about what you don't have.

What do you say when its too much?

When things get absolutely too much to handle, that you feel like there is no where to go or turn, pray to God, and ASK God for help! I am not one of those religious fanatics, but there has been times in my life, when I was at the end of my rope, and didn't have any more answers. I just said, God, I'm giving you my problems, and you handle them! You know what? God never let me down yet! You must have faith, even when things seem totally impossible, and you feel you've hit a dead end in everything you do, or every way you turn, you cant give up, you must keep trying even though it may not seem like your getting anywhere, keep trying, and you really must give it up to God, I usually got an answer within 48 hours when Ive done that. Hope things get better, and if you need help, keep searching, there is always someone out there that cares enough to give advice, or help!

What do you say when its too much?

Question is this on the soap. or are you for real really .I can't even begin to imagine, what to respond. If your on the up-n-up time for a cool change get out of the negative and shift gears, thats no way to what you might call living that is a storyline for the afternoon soaps.
