My dog has 'hot spots' and flaky skin....any home remedy that really works?
I agree with Peter, please see a vet.Hot spots have many different causes, and while a home remedy may work on one kind,it may do nothing for another.See why the dog is getting hot spots and let the vet advise you on treatment.

If your dog is itching really bad you might want to go ahead and take it to the vet for an "itch shot", or a steroid injection just to get a good start on trying to help ease the itching. My big dog has this problem and we use Prednisone, which helps to maintain it.
Hope this helps, here are a couple of websites which may help

You need to see a vet - dogs are also susceptable to skin allergies which could be caused by environmental contact, bacteria or even parasites. Don't risk your dog's health - see a professional.
