I'm disabled, what dog should I get???

I am kind of inactive but I have a pekingnese/poodle that loves me...I must be doing something right!!! The breed would have to like being inside, amongst people, love laps %26amp; be small enough for me to handle %26amp; tend not to bite!! I like brushing hair too!!!

Any suggestions???

I'm disabled, what dog should I get???

I would suggest adopting an older dog from a shelter. They tend to be more lap dogs. More quiet and calm. Good indoor/lap dog breeds would be pugs, rat terriers, papillions, miniature schnauzer, minature poodle. Good luck and I hope you find a great companion!!

I'm disabled, what dog should I get???

I think Vintage up there got it. I was trying to think of another breed, but Golden would be great. Or a Goldendoodle.

(not small, but great, obedient, and easy to train!)

I'm disabled, what dog should I get???

Bichon Frise, we had two of them, low matinence, and very loveable! They're the best

I'm disabled, what dog should I get???

I haven't had many small dogs. The only two that I had were a Yorkie mix and a cocker spaniel. Both were very loving dogs.

But, don't take my word for it. Go to your local shelter, let them know your situation. The should be able to help you find the right dog for you.

Edit: And to answer your questions, every type of dog out there has been in a shelter. So, yeah, small dogs will be in shelters. Either they were strays, turned over by owners that couldn't keep them, or rescued from a bad environment

I'm disabled, what dog should I get???

A yorkie would be perfect for you. They're an indoor dog and so small! A mini one is only 4 lbs and they love to be brushed all the time and they don't bite. Good luck! =)

I'm disabled, what dog should I get???

Small dogs that have been poorly bred or spoiled to a point of being too spoiled can have a tendency to nip, but I don't think it's characteristic of any breed.

Most small breeds were originally bred as pets or lap dogs, so I really think that almost any breed would be appropriate for you. I'd recommend that you either get an older dog (from a shelter or private party) that you know has a good temperament or get a puppy from a good breeder where you can meet the parents and talk to the breeder.

Small breeds with groomable hair include: Poodles, longhair Chihuahuas, Maltese, Havanese, Lowchen, Yorkshire Terriers, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, English Toy Spaniel (aka King Charles Spaniel)... There's more, but those I could think of off the top of my head.

I'm disabled, what dog should I get???

I am also disabled and have 2 Pomeranians. I spend most of my time inside due to my illness and I have found that Pomeranians are great indoor pets. Like you, I enjoy brushing my dogs, so grooming them and never been a problem for me.

ADD:

Small dogs do end up in shelters. Some of the reasons are the owner passed away, moved to an apartment, can no longer afford a pet or training problems.

Small dogs go VERY fast. I was on a list at the shelter for over a year waiting for a small dog. I decided to go to a breeder. It could have been years! I live in a small town, so the turnover is very slow. You might have quicker/better results in a larger city.

I'm disabled, what dog should I get???

It doesn't have to be a full blood breed. I would check the SPCA or the humane society there are many mixed breed dogs that would be wonderful and loving.

I'm disabled, what dog should I get???

Bichon Frise...happy-go-lucky dogs, LOVE ppl, love being the ultimate lap dog, very affectionate and grooming is a must so you'd get to brush to your hearts content. they aren't "tiny" dogs...but they aren't HUGE either, perfect sized dog for your needs, great personality for your needs, and loves other ppl and pets.

EDIT:

ahh some haters up in here thumbs downing i see..LOL how stupid.

anyway...answer to your added question...YES small dogs DO end up in shelters. i have volunteered at my local SPCA for YEARS..MANY small dogs come in and out of the shelter system. some get adopted, some don't.

30% of the shelter population are made up of PUREBRED dogs...something to think about.

matter of fact...i found my sweet little dog Peggy Sue at a kill shelter. her owners brought her in and gave her up...ppl are cruel.

i was VERY upset about her being in the kill shelter because she was SO sweet. BUT the SPCA that i volunteer w/had already saved as many dogs as they were allowed for that week, and most "owner turn ins" only get 3 days before they are put down.

My husband knew how upset i was about it...and being the sweet man that he is, he snuck down to the kill shelter and adopted her on our anniversary! that was 4 yrs ago..she was 2 yrs old when we adopted her...she is just a sweetheart, loves our kids and other dogs...and well everybody really.

she's a chihuahua/dachshund mix. and since she was already spayed when we adopted her, her adoption fee was only $4!!

all my dogs are shelter dogs...2 are purebreds, 2 are mutts.

you'd be surprised what you can find in a shelter.

I'm disabled, what dog should I get???

If you are blind a golden retriever would be good

I'm disabled, what dog should I get???

I have and raise the mix of pom/maltese. They would be perfect for your situation. They would love to sit in anyones lap all day. They do need brushing, and are under 12 pounds. All mine are litter trained and the puppies too. I have one little girl that will only go outside for any reason, if we make her. She just prefers the inside, lol. The poms and maltese that i have and the mix, are just so friendly.

I'm disabled, what dog should I get???

well if u go with a little bet bigger dog like a lab u would be better, like a black lab mix, they r really healthy and love to be around people

I'm disabled, what dog should I get???

Mini longhair dachshund...?

I'm disabled, what dog should I get???

Your question was vague in details because there is all kinds of disabilities and you didn't mention what you have or your limitations...from there you could pick a appriopriate breed. Feel free to email me with more details.

I'm disabled, what dog should I get???

Chihuahuas make great service dogs. They can help you pick up things etc. I know someone who has a service chi who lets her know just before she has a seizure so she can sit down and be prepared and not just collapse onto the floor. They are very smart, very aware little dogs. My chi automatically became a seeing eyed dog for my older Toy Poodle who went blind. He would nudge him away from walking into stone walls etc in our garden.

I'm disabled, what dog should I get???

I am disabled and when my husband died, I got left with our black lab so I know you should not go there. Rocky just turned 6 and still is like a hyper puppy.I still love my devil dog! good luck!

Best Choice: Golden Retriever

Golden retrievers are a great and fun dog to have for any household. They are full of life and energy and will bring a lot of fun to your life. Their temperament is perfect for the average family that has children living in it or for someone that is on their own. No matter who is in need of a dog, the Golden Retriever is perfect for your life.

Golden retrievers are fun loving dogs that you can have a great deal of fun with. You can play with them and let them run and jump around the yard or house. You can have a good game of catch with them and watch as they run after the ball each time your throw it. They will playfully run to the ball and bring it back to you each time.

Golden retrievers are well known for their affection. They are dogs that need and want to have love and attention from their owners as well as anyone else that will pay mind to them. They like to surround themselves with people that are going socialize with them and give them attention.

Families that have children will get so much pleasure from a golden retriever joining their home. The children will find that the dog is so gentle and willing to have fun with them. They will be able to feel comfortable around the dog as well as the parents can feel safe and secure knowing that they have a good and well behaved dog as their family pet.

Most of the golden retrievers are going to be great companions for just about anyone that is lonely. They will make up for the lost friendship or relationship that is missing from someone閳ユ獨 life. If there is someone that is in need of a friend, getting a golden retriever may be the perfect present to get for him or her. This is a dog that will require little maintenance except for continuous love and attention.

Golden retriever閳ユ獨 intelligence is one of the reasons why they are so great to have around. They have the sense to know when or what they should be doing and sort of have common sense to tell them if they should or should not be doing something. This is another reason why they also make great assistance dogs for the disabled.

Many people think of their golden retriever as a good therapy dog. They will find the time that the spend with their dog as a good form of treatment for when they are not feeling well or have emotional problems that are hard to deal with. A golden retriever is a great way to bring joy into someone閳ユ獨 life again. You will not find another dog to have the same great attitude as the golden retriever does.

I'm disabled, what dog should I get???

I strongly recommend the Golden Retriever. They are such beautiful dogs, loyal companions, friendly, and lovable. They match all of your criteria and are wonderful for anyone.

You won't regret getting a golden retriever!

Hope that helps you out! [:

I'm disabled, what dog should I get???

A cocka-poo. Good mix and still a small breed.... They love to be lap dogs, love to be loved, and love to be inside. Plus their hair can get long enough for you to brush.

But ultimately there are alot of small breeds that would fit your situation perfectly.... Look up some dog breed websites and read about all different small breeds, and narrow it down to something that you think would be right for u.

I'm disabled, what dog should I get???

Golden Doodle or a bichon frise.

My bathroom tub drains very slow.?

Its a new tub and all . We have tried different drano and tried The Works. What else could it be? Dog hair ? We do bath our dogs in there does drano really work on dog hair?

My bathroom tub drains very slow.?

What really works is for you to start using a strainer. Sludge builds up in you drains from soap and dirt. Now hair stick to that sludge and creates a blackage. Now their is no permanent solution to this because sludge will always build up. However, Power flushing the drain is a good way to help this problem. Basically it's high pressure water that cleans a your pipes. So the power flushing plus the strainer will help in prolonging the time it will take for you drain to back up.

My bathroom tub drains very slow.?

I don't know about drano, but i'm sure you can find

out.

I'd try in the future placing some kind of sponge

filter to trap hair before it goes down the drain.

Works on my own family's long hair.

My bathroom tub drains very slow.?

Tell you the truth it is probably dog hair or human hair nothing works except to try to dig out some of the hair in the drain. I know its gross but it works

My bathroom tub drains very slow.?

plug up the overflow drain and use a plunger it'll suck the dog hair out and your drain will run better for it (I have to do this at least once a month)

My bathroom tub drains very slow.?

You need to 'snake' it. If you know someone who has one, borrow it. You don't need a pro to do it unless you don't have access to one. It is just a very long narrow piece metal and you run it down your drain and push and wiggle (those are very technical words, lol) and it will push any dog hair or whatever down. If it persists you can hire a pro who has the snake hooked to machine that twists it and it works better. Make sure to catch as much hair as you can before it goes down, which can be done with some ingenuity an a piece of screen.

My bathroom tub drains very slow.?

call a plumber...drano isn't really good for the pipes...the plumber can snake it out or water blast out whatever is in there, if thats the case...if its not a clog..then he can figure out what it is

My bathroom tub drains very slow.?

you need a snake.

My bathroom tub drains very slow.?

it could be that there is something in the drain. it could also be that the drain is run incorrectly. it's too hard to tell without being in front of it. drano and such will work for clogs, but for slow drains you need a drain opener, not a clog remover.

My bathroom tub drains very slow.?

Use sulferic acid. It will dissolve anything organic... Any decent hardware store should have it. It will be next to the drano. be cautious of the fumes and follow the directions. Also, you could be having ventillation problems. You should poor some down the air vent (on the roof). This should solve your problem..

My bathroom tub drains very slow.?

Has the tub always drained slow? Or is it only since you first bathed the dogs in it? If drain cleaned hasn't helped the drain stop might need to be adjusted. Usually, there are 2 screws on either side of the stop lever. Remove those and pull the whole mess out slowly. You will have a long arm attached to back of the lever with a cylinder shape at the bottom. If dog hair is the problem it may be clumped all over the cylinder. If not, try turning the cylinder left 2 or 3 turns(you should see the cylinder move down the arm) and put it back together and check to see how it drains. When the drain stop cylinder is adjusted right the tub will hold water and drain pretty quick.

My bathroom tub drains very slow.?

A clot may have been left during install, if so, using a fiber-optic camera to check for it may be your best bet.

Removal of the tub to see if everything was done right is a, not so easy, other option if it never worked.

If it did work in the past, collect dog hair, and let it soak in the clot removal fluids available. Use the best on your tub, remembering to let it soak for a while, it takes time to break down clots, but also read the directions on the label. Do not rinse away the removal fluid immediately, give it time to work (possibly a number of treatments are needed to remove the clot.)

You may have to call a plumber though..:-(

What is on my dog's head?

I have a pug and this past weekend, she was doing a lot of running around all over my mom's house, chasing cats and causing trouble. I noticed one evening that she was missing a small tuft of hair on the top of her head and there was a minute bump, but no other sign of injury. It's been three days and now it appears there's a scab where the bump was. I'm wondering if it's possible she bumped her head on something and it took a few days to show up as a scab or if this could be something else more serious I should have looked at?

What is on my dog's head?

Ah, the occupational hazards of being a Pug! LOL

From what you described, she probably just bumped her head...

Just keep an eye on it...doesn't sound serious.

What is on my dog's head?

Just fyi get her looked at by your vet. Chances are she maybe got scratched or biten by the cat or even stung by something.

What is on my dog's head?

It's probably not that serious. Just keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't get infected.

What is on my dog's head?

Could be a tick. My dog had one on her head, I kept touching it, I was very grossed out when we went to the vet. He put a drop of insecticide on it and out dropped a large ugly bug.

What is on my dog's head?

It is very likely it is just a bump or a scratch, and is probably nothing you need to worry about. I'd keep an eye on it, and if it seems to worsen i'd get her checked out by a vet.

Good luck!

What is on my dog's head?

She just recieved a swat from a cat thats all. She`ll live and learn.

What is on my dog's head?

tick bite

What is on my dog's head?

Probably a bump or a swat from the cat-- lots of little dogs think they're big and try to intimidate other larger animals :)

Keep watch on it and it should go away in a few days. If it doesn't, or if it gets worse, take him to the vet. Chances are he'll be just fine.

What is on my dog's head?

i guess the cat or some other animals bit your pug's head causing missing tuft and scab now.it'll be indispensible the spot should be sterilized thoughly to prevent festering(scab contains infection as long as i know) so to see the vet would be the best remedy.

What is on my dog's head?

If it is a cat scratch it could get infected. My cat got an infection from another cat and she needed to go on antibiotics for a few days. She became very lethargic. Keep an eye on the bump to see if it starts to swell and then take her to the vet. Cat scratches can be nasty things.

What is on my dog's head?

One of the cats was warning her to stay away from them. She was swatted.

It will clear up on it's own. If you like, put some neosporin on it.

I have 2 cats and 2 dogs, so I see this all of the time.

What is on my dog's head?

The scab was probably stuck underneath the hair.

Im right or wrong?

my baby is 4weeks old and i think he is in problem.

i have my own house my girlfriend has hers...before the babe was born i told her i dont want to see the house dirty ,and i dont want to see dog hair ly everywhere ,the dogs s*** anywhere in the house ,the smell make u sick when u open the front door .sometimes im please with her ,when i go down there the house is clean and everything tidy she has a dauther of 15years ,and 3 days ago me baby spit out milk ,some got in the floor the reaction of the 15 year old was : clean the floor (full dog hair and dirty ) with the bib and after she clean his mouth,i told her mum ,but she never said a word to the dauther .

today i told her i dont want nathing to do with her no more if she want to live do way she lives ,but now im scared that she will stop me from see my little angel.

i did help her in the house ,but i did give up doing because everything is always the same .

what i should do ?

1-forget i have a baby and start other life?

Im right or wrong?

why don't you help her. you have 2 hands. clean the house yourself.

Im right or wrong?

it sounds like u r doing all that u can. i would tell her to clean up the place or i am going to take the baby to a clean home, where i no the baby will be taken care of. she needs to keep the place clean for the well being of the baby and there selves.

Im right or wrong?

It sounds to me like your being a bit bossy, like back in the old days when men had the "you're the weaker species, now listen to what I say or else." I can see where you're coming from though, but instead of spazzing out why don't you go down there and help her out a lot? A relationship is a two way door, you don't have to let her do all the work and it sounds like she has her hands full. It's harder then you think on a woman to raise children and still have time to clean the house.

Im right or wrong?

you could forget the child if you wanted to. See if having other friends tell her helps.

Im right or wrong?

Why dont you call the health depertmant or SRS if you really think it's that bad. If it's just not up to your code then thats another story but if the childs in danger you really should do something about it

Im right or wrong?

Forgetting you have a baby would make you worse than her.

Im right or wrong?

didn't you see her house when you were dating ? or having sex there? offer to clean it up yourself without comments; it is her house; she has her hands full and you are complaining, giving everyone something else to deal with; obviously you are only half in this relationship but didn't choose to use protection to make sure that when you had a child, it would be the best environment for the child not just for you to have a good time and now make demands. You are the one acting childish; she is being responsible; if you have a problem with cleaning; hire a maid for her; problem solved.

Im right or wrong?

You can't "forget" you have a baby and start over. You're in this til the end - that baby needs you. He needs you to be there for him and to guide his mother. All you can do is be consistent with the mother in telling her how you feel about the cleanliness of her house. If you think the baby is in danger living in that house, you do have the option of calling social services - I'm sure they can talk her into cleaning up and make a better environment for your baby. Yes, you could help her clean it, but you can't guarantee it'll stay that way...

Im right or wrong?

First of all help clean up if your so worried about it. Second it is disgusting to have any type of bowels in your house on the floor or where ever. look up some info to show her all the germs she is exposing this infant to. The baby will get sick all the time if there is dog poop around them. Why don't you keep the baby at your house.

Im right or wrong?

First of all its not easy to have a perfectly clean house with a baby. Also it doesn't sound to hygenic that the 15 yr old wiped the floor then the babies mouth but she is only 15. I don' think you should tell her you don't want anything to do with her just because of a dirty house, you could continue to help out maybe your babies mother needs some help with house work. But as i said its not easy to keep on top of thing when you havejust had a baby, she is tired, probably up all night with the baby, all the nappy changing etc, try to be more understanding.

Im right or wrong?

don't you ever even dare to think on leaving your baby!!!!!! How could you think on something like that?????!!! Just be there for him....he needs you as I can see......Try to work things out with the mother. 4 weeks and you are already dropping out???!!!! Now is not the time to impose anything, not even if you are right.

Your girlfriend must be exhaust. I think it will be great that you go live with her.....that way you can watch over your baby and make things easier for all of you.

Congrats on the baby, you mas be very happy...

Good Luck.

Im right or wrong?

If its your child as well, you have a right to it and you can get custody of it if you decide to leave. Its YOUR right as a parent to make sure that the child is raised in a safe and healthy environment so, if the house is never cleaned and the child isn't being cared for properly, you can call the police or child protective services and attempt to get custody.

Im right or wrong?

you could always threaten her that if she doesnt clean the house and keep it sanitary you will file for custady of the child. and remind her w/ a house like that, that you would get custady

Im right or wrong?

no should not forget u have a baby..................if she is this nasty why did u have a baby with her............why did u have sex with her.............stop putting her down and help her

Im right or wrong?

Maybe she needs help. Doesnt sound like the 15 year old is much help. She needs to take care of her daughter and have her start helping out alot more and maybe you should help her too, since you baby is living there.

Im right or wrong?

Your child should not be living in those conditions, I'm not Molly maid but that's nasty. Go after custody of your child if you feel you can provide better for her maybe that alone will cause her to change her ways. You should never forget you have a child, she is yours no matter what and you are just as responsible for her stand up be a man and do something about the problem.

Im right or wrong?

I think you are wrong. Kids will be kids and make a mess. Love is unconditional. You know the saying if you want something done right do it yourself.

Im right or wrong?

You shouldn't forget about your baby just because you don't like the way the Mom lives. You can't just run away and start over when things get a little tough. Trust me, being a parent is not easy but the benefits far outweigh the trials! One "I love you, Daddy" in the future will erase all the mess you are dealing with now.

You need to have a heart2heart talk with her and maybe you guys can come to some sort of agreement as to what each of your expectations are. You deserve to have your baby in your life and your baby deserves to have a father in his.

Hang in there and rally your support system (parents, friends, etc.) around you to help you sort all this out. Good Luck my friend!

Im right or wrong?

You need to help out and do what you need. Sometime that is all that needs to be done. If you leave what would that do and when everone is grown up you want to come back into there live's

Im right or wrong?

How could you have the audacity to demand perfection from a woman that just had a baby 4 weeks ago. Whether by C-section or regular vaginal birth she is still in recovery.

First of all that 15yr old daughter of hers could be a little more helpful but she isn't obligated to take on parental responsibilities. You are the other parent. It doesn't matter that you aren't married to her, you are the father so you should go over there as often as possible and offer your girlfriend help in the most gracious way. She carried him for 9 months and went through the child birth and is now trying to recover her energy and such from that. She also has the added responsibility of raising a teenager which can also take a lot out of someone. You should go over and help her. Go get the Dog groomed, they have things they can do that can help minimize the shedding. Put up baby gates to keep the dog limited to certain areas of the house. Buy the Clorox disinfected towelettes in a pop up container (maybe a few for around the house, so that surfaces can be cleaned up in a flash with sanitizing qualities. Gently and kindly hint or explain to the teen that it would be a great help for her take on some chores for a while until "mom" gets her energy back. Right now she needs to sleep when the baby sleeps because at night, I'm sure she doesn't get a full nights sleep yet. If you can afford to you could get a maid to come and do some cleaning here and there. Not every day but maybe twice a month, in the meantime, pitch in even if it isn't YOUR house. It is your baby and you can BE A Father and take on some responsibility. If in fact she wasn't the best house keeper before the baby, then you can ease her into forming some good habits if they are encouraged with love and understanding and not some DOMINEERING Chauvenistic Pig stuff. Like I am Man and you are WOman and you will be subservient to me. That is bull hockey. You laid down with her to make this baby, you can stand up and be a man and a father. If the dog continues to be a problem, evaluate it's value in the house. Our dog started to pee in the house when the baby came because of a jealousy and then as the baby got older was starting to chew on toys and destroy them. We got rid of the dog. My mother has him now where he can be spoiled by a couple of old people who can make him their main focus and he doesn't have to share the limelight with a baby. You can also give the dog to an agency that finds new homes for dogs. Baby comes first here. She will have to realize this if it is her dog.

Im right or wrong?

First of all -- did you not observe that she was not going to put forth effort to keep her home tidy during the time you two were dating (or having sex -- and where did you conceive the child anyway)?

This is VERY DIFFICULT to read -- the spelling problems make it hard to understand ... and picking out things to deal with one by one -- there are tons of issues here that need more than just being on Yahoo Answers can give.

You went over and started fixing things -- Good for you -- that is helping the environment over there for sure.

YOU have NO OPTION to "FORGET" you have a Baby -- get a DNA test done right now to determine IF it is biologically yours -- then ... if you are so concerned about the infant (and it is biologically yours) -- FILE for custody of the infant, and

file with Child Protective Services where you live -- note the conditions of the home, the fact that the dog is allowed to do its business in the home (YUCK! Nasty), that the home is a mess, and that there are other problems there -- and list them for the call that you are going to make.

YOU have to make the choice -- do you want to continue on supporting 3 individuals (the infant, the 15 yr old and the mom) or do you want to go on with just you and (if it is yours) the Biological child.

MAKE That decision relatively soon -- because if you do not -- I can assure you that SHE will already be filing for Child Support soon -- and custody (maybe).

What scares me (and I have known women like this) -- is what happens if she dumps the child off somewhere and just leaves the infant? These women are either in trouble (due to mental illness or other problems) or ... just plain uncaring and want to continue with their party life style.

GET the DNA test done ASAP. Find out the Answer, and if it is positive, Go file for Custody and take care of the Infant as best you can. Just remember -- there is NO GOING BACK or 'FORGETTING' that you had an infant -- the child is born, the child needs a responsible parent for the first 18 years of life, and that responsible parent needs to be more than a money maker for the irresponsible parent.

Im right or wrong?

Well for one you shouldn't have knocked up a woman that you felt was so nasty! And 2, you are a loser for wondering if you should just forget you have a baby and go on with your life because you don't like what is happening! Well too late for that!! This is the bed you made now time to get in it! A kid is nothing that you should forget and go on-

You are no better than her- you deserve her!

Im right or wrong?

Here's an idea: BE A FATHER. Take the baby to your house and YOU raise it.

What would you do if your girlfriend said to herself, "It's just too hard to take care of a baby and a house...I know what I'll do, I'll forget I have a baby and start another life."

I ruined my sister's sweater, help?

I had it on my bed on the little frame thing so it could dry flat and my dog crawled up on it and twisted all around and now it is COVERED in dog hair. Is there any way to get all those dog hairs out? It is a very thick angora sweater so those little lint remover rollers do not work at all.

I ruined my sister's sweater, help?

Try a small comb or a hair brush. If you use lint rollers or even tape it will pull the fibers apart and do more damage. Be sure the brush or comb is clean and go over the sweater very carefully. I hope this helps please do not use tape.

I ruined my sister's sweater, help?

About the only suggestion I would have is to get some duck tape and roll it around your hand, sticky side out, and just slowly go over every inch of the sweater. It may be time consuming but it's a pretty sticky tape. I've used it before on item like this. Just keep changing tape strips.

My left leg, outer thigh is numb and has no feeling, should I be worried?

Yesterday, I was sitting down and bending over cutting my dogs hair. I was bent over for some time and when I got up my lower back was burning with pain. I walked around for a while rubbing my lower back then sat down. When I got up about 15 minutes later I had no feeling in my left upper leg and still don't. I am starting to get worried. My back doesn't hurt anymore but my leg has no feeling and is numb. What should I do because I have no health insurance and the hospital is an arm and a leg for cost. Do you think I will get feeling back in my leg soon? Help!

My left leg, outer thigh is numb and has no feeling, should I be worried?

sorry to say this but yo need to go to a doc. you may have poor circulation and if u wait too long you could need it amputated, and I'm and amputee and thats not really fun

i would guess around 200-300 dollars if you bought it from a breeder.

How much for a dog?

alot some run up to 1000 dollars

so if i were u check on petfinder.com

How much for a dog?

500-2000

500 for a normal one

2000 for a teacup or mini teacup

How much for a dog?

no clue

How much for a dog?

Well, one of my friends told me that they got there dog for 70 dollars.

How much for a dog?

It depends on the breeder and where they are located. I would say they start at $700+.

Find a breeder who breeds to better the breed and tries to work on health issues. One that also checks for health conditions.

How much for a dog?

Look on the net or ask around there is probably one around somewhere.

How much for a dog?

I wouldn't invest one penny in a Dog until I have vested plenty of time to learn as much as needed in what it will take in time, money, and, care to have a dog regardless of the breed or cost of the dog.

A $15,000.00 trained German Shepherd Guard Dog isn't worth a dime if it's owner hasn't prepared themselves for ownership.

I'm sure if we could ask dogs how much they expect from an owner/master and what they seek.......would you measure up?

I'm not posting this to be a "Wise Guy", but, too often people are focused on getting a dog well before they have grasped what it takes to own a dog.

There is a big difference in having a Dog and being a Dog Owner.

I hope you are prepared for ownership, and, then I would be sure that regardless of what kind of dog you get regardless of what it costs will be a wonderful fit for you.

I'm just a conscientious dog owner and pro-dog in regards to their well beings. Just want to emphasize that having a wonderful dog experience and sharing your life with them depends more on you than them.

I wish you the best, and hope you get a great dog!

How much for a dog?

depends on who you buy from, where, and the quality of the dog.

I am wondering if anybody knows wether PomPom dogs are hypoallegenic.?

My son is allergic to dogs with hair, but seems fine around dogs with a pelt. We are interested in getting a PomPom and do not know if is a good dog for him to be living with?

I am wondering if anybody knows wether PomPom dogs are hypoallegenic.?

It would be hard to tell. Each person is different. A "hypoallergenic" dog (or anything for that matter) is one that is "less likely to cause and allergic reaction" not one that is "non-allergenic".

The best thing, if not the only thing, to do is to have your son meet the parents of the puppy that you plan to get. The reason for meeting the parents is that puppies themselves are all pretty much hypoallergenic up to about 6 - 9 months, when they get their adult coats. So, you may get a puppy that doesn't bother your son, but it grows into a dog that does.

I believe that the AKC has a list on their site of the dogs less likely to cause allergic reactions. You might want to check there. www.akc.org

I am wondering if anybody knows wether PomPom dogs are hypoallegenic.?

They are sheding dogs.

Here is info on poms http://dogbreedinfo.com/pomeranian.htm

may I suggest you look at this breed?

http://dogbreedinfo.com/yorkshireterrier...

I am wondering if anybody knows wether PomPom dogs are hypoallegenic.?

There is no such thing as a hypoallergenic dog. Simply becaue the orign of the allergy is not always in the hair. It can be salvia, dander %26amp; bugs. I'm living proof of that. I'm allergic to poodles, bichons, maltese %26amp; cockers. With the curly breeds its the soft hair that makes me sneeze. I'm a dog groomer so I see MANY of these breeds a week, and I discovered they were my source of sneezing, I would be totally fine around other beeds except these ones. If its course hairs that make your son sneeze then maybe a curly dog is your best bet. Because they don't shed the same way straight coat breeds do. Poms are most defiantly not good for allergies. I do tons of pom shave downs because owners simply can't deal with the hair or allergies. I want to kill them all for doing that because they look terrible %26amp; the hair never grows back in. Good luck

I am wondering if anybody knows wether PomPom dogs are hypoallegenic.?

First dogs do not have pelts. Second if your referring to Pomeranian than yes they will make your sons allergies go nuts.

There are very few dogs that do not shed a lot. All dogs will shed some. Look at Poodles, Shihtzu's, Schnauzer's.

I am wondering if anybody knows wether PomPom dogs are hypoallegenic.?

Sorry, but they are not hypoallergenic. They are shedders, and some people are extremely allergic to them. My brother was allergic to my Pom, and said it felt just like his allergy to cats.

I am wondering if anybody knows wether PomPom dogs are hypoallegenic.?

What is a PomPom? No such dog. There are Pomeranians, however.

I am wondering if anybody knows wether PomPom dogs are hypoallegenic.?

they are not... but i have two bichon frise's and they are hypoallegenic.

a bichon frise is a good choice for someone who has allergies to dogs.

I am wondering if anybody knows wether PomPom dogs are hypoallegenic.?

Sorry there is no such this as a hypoallegenic dog. all dogs have dander even if they dont shed the dander still gets into the air.

Skin problems in dogs?

My pittbull mixed dog's hair is getting thin behind her ears and on the back of her legs, she don't have fleas and don't seem to itch but her skin is changing from pink to grayish black . I don't know what is worng with her any suggestions?

Skin problems in dogs?

I'd take her to the vet. Hopefully nothing serious, but you can't be too careful...

Skin problems in dogs?

Food Allgergies...You may need to up the food quality to a high standard brand.

My New 8 week old kitten Is sneezing like crazy! He sneezes every couple minutes in little spurts.?

What do you all you all think? I don't know whats going on with my kitten. He is fine other than that. His brother (7weeks too) doesn't seem to be doing it. They are both very active and play for at least 7 hours a day. I have 2 dogs too, a Cockerspaniel and a Husky. My only thoughts are that its the Dogs hair, or the cat litter "dust". Please vet students, or knowlageable pet owners respond.

My New 8 week old kitten Is sneezing like crazy! He sneezes every couple minutes in little spurts.?

Does he sound chesty when he's purring? If so then a course of antibiotics might be in order. You didn't mention how long you've had the kitten, if this is a new thing i.e the past few days, then it might just be a bit of a cold or a chill, if he's had this problem since you got him then take him to the vet, he should have his first check-up as soon as possible anyway.

My New 8 week old kitten Is sneezing like crazy! He sneezes every couple minutes in little spurts.?

It's most likely allergies. I have a cat that licks off her fur. Our vet told us that it's allergies and gave her a shot.

My New 8 week old kitten Is sneezing like crazy! He sneezes every couple minutes in little spurts.?

If you adopted him from a kennel or humane society they ALWAYS catch "kennel cold". It's not very serious they will usually get over it in a couple weeks. If he doesn't seem any better after that you may want to consider bringing him in. Since his "brother" doesn't seem to have it you might want to keep them seperated...."kennel cold" is extremely contagious! When one of my cats came home with it the others had it within a day!

Good luck and have fun with your new babies :]

My New 8 week old kitten Is sneezing like crazy! He sneezes every couple minutes in little spurts.?

He might have a cold, a respiratory infection or it can be allergies. See your vet to be sure, he's about due for his first vaccination anyway.

My New 8 week old kitten Is sneezing like crazy! He sneezes every couple minutes in little spurts.?

There's a slim chance it might be distemper. I'd take the kittenv to the vet.

My New 8 week old kitten Is sneezing like crazy! He sneezes every couple minutes in little spurts.?

Have the Vet ck him out. Lots of good answers above. But, in the meantime.....do you use carpet fresheners? I found that the powder kind would always make my animals sneeze.

My New 8 week old kitten Is sneezing like crazy! He sneezes every couple minutes in little spurts.?

that sounds like an upper respiratory infection. cats can get these from other cats, and also just from stress. Take your kitten to the vet and have him treated (usually antibiotics). Although the brother-cat isn't doing it now, upper respiratory infections are highly contagious in cats - so the sooner you get your sick one treated, the better off both of them will be. It might be a week or ten days until you notice the brother cat sneezing. Your suspicion about the cat litter dust might be a problem if the kitten is sneezing lots after he uses the catbox. Probably not the dogs hair- you're describing like an allergic reaction, and cat allergies usually manifest in other ways, like digestive problems or losing their hair or constant licking on one part of their body. hope this helps. the upper respiratory infections are pretty common in cats, so your vet will know what to do right away.

My New 8 week old kitten Is sneezing like crazy! He sneezes every couple minutes in little spurts.?

It could be allergies. I would keep on eye on them. It also could be an upper respiratory infection. If they start to cough, running nose, and ishy eyes get them into the vet. Cats can sometimes get over it, but a lot of times it could turn serious and cause death. I ran into that problem with mine. They put her on an antibiotic and she's doing great.

My New 8 week old kitten Is sneezing like crazy! He sneezes every couple minutes in little spurts.?

try the vet...

he/she will know what to do....

My New 8 week old kitten Is sneezing like crazy! He sneezes every couple minutes in little spurts.?

He needs to go to the vet it sounds like an upper respiratory infection. Are his eyes running? Sounds like they need an antibiotic to clear this up.

My New 8 week old kitten Is sneezing like crazy! He sneezes every couple minutes in little spurts.?

My sisters roommate's kitten had this as well when she brought him home from the SPCA, it was kennel cough, take it to your vet and see if this is what it is, there is medication to help with it, as well as shots to prevent it.

My New 8 week old kitten Is sneezing like crazy! He sneezes every couple minutes in little spurts.?

like u your different then others so is Ur kitten hes got a mild case of allergies noting to worry about.

Pulling my hair out looking for this thing. Anyone care to stop the insanity?

I had this perfect gif thing for my myspace and lost it. It was a dog tag with rhinestones around it and it said future Mrs. on it. Anyone know where I can find it again? I really loved it so I would really love to find it again. You would be so great if you find it, but you are great for even helping me look :)

Pulling my hair out looking for this thing. Anyone care to stop the insanity?

Hi, good morning, you still remember me?

You sent me a message yesterday showing your concerns about me, and i really appreciated that. Thank you.

I got so much better today, i even want to go to the library to study. :)

I tried to reply to your message but i couldn't, because your IM service was blocked by you. If you want to share, why don't you make it unblocked? Apparently I wouldn't recover so quickly if i let it blocked too, because if i did that, i wouldn't had received your message.

Like you said, "Be strong!" Sincerely hope you can recover quickly too. Best of luck to you! :)

Can animals communicate threw peoples minds?

Last night I could not sleep at all... so I went to the living room to go to the kitchen, and got a glass of milk. I look on the groun and I see a little black dot, so I think it is a spider... but I turn on the lights and it is a tiny green tree frog. It was covered in my dogs hair, motionless, and dry. So I flick at it slightly, and notice its legs twitch!

So then, I grab it, and I quickly go to the sink in my bathroom, wash it off gently and remove all the hair.. then I made it a tiny home inside the sink with some water and a rock outside the water.. and it looked as good as new, and it also slept there. I woke up in the morning, and I took it outside, and today I get back from school, and it is behind this pole thing that makes the rain go down so it doesn't mess up the lawn.. so I spray it with some water.. and it likes it and just stays there.

I couldn't sleep, but after making it its home, I slept perfectly.

So.. just wondering if it was telling me to come save it..

Can animals communicate threw peoples minds?

I admire your attempts to save the frog, but I don't think that frogs can ever communicate on any meaningful level with people. It's not that frogs don't communicate at all...they certainly do, but they base their communication on a system of noises and displays that we as humans simply aren't built to understand. We can study the frogs' communication patterns and glean some meaning from it, but they can't do the same to ours. A wounded frog would never be able to tell you, mentally or otherwise, that it needed your help; in fact, it would probably rather avoid being found by you or any other large animal. To a frog, we're simply potential predators.

Dogs, on the other hand, are a bit higher on the intelligence scale than frogs and there's good evidence that they can interpret the meanings of some of our words and facial expressions. Again, their ability to understand and communicate with us is very limited, as their perception of the world is totally different from ours.

Good luck to you.

Can animals communicate threw peoples minds?

Yes, It is In PeOples Minds If theY think Animals are coMMunicating with them.

Can animals communicate threw peoples minds?

It depends on what you think, really.

Personally I think you are at a certain place at a certain time at times in your life because there is a need, and you were possibly there (up, at night) because you are supposed to help out a creature in distress. But that is philosophical in nature...

You obviously have a good and sensitive heart and perhaps maybe on some level you became aware of the frog's distress and were led to where you needed to be. Animals in distress certainly do send out signals... sometimes audible (some call for help, others in warning), sometimes chemical, and sometimes through motion. You just may be sensitive enough to pick up on some of these! Blessings- dd

p.s for fun, I would love to see you re- post this in the relig/spirituality section and see what sort of answers you get!

Can animals communicate threw peoples minds?

Unfortunately, I don't think that animals are able to telepathically summon aid like that.

Sadly, I've had more than a few critters go belly-up on me - drying out dead in the bathroom, or starving to death after leaving their cage, or one salamander that made it across a large room, under the door, down the stairs and halfway across a warehouse before finally expiring in a sad, dust-caked mess on the floor.

If any of these critters could have communicated, they'd have survived their ordeals.

Also - throughout the lengthy evolutionary history of amphibians, there has only been an incredibly short period of time during which there was another organism able and willing to rescue things like little froggies from dire predicaments. Prior to that period, any kind of summons to help would simply resulted in a frog that was eaten instead of dessicated and hairy. So such an adaptation would hardly be advantageous for the little critters.

When will a pregnant dog start showing?

I have a Pomeranian who is possibly pregnant (by our male pom) . She would be due in 2 1/2 weeks, but isn't obviously pregnant (as far as size). She may have gained some weight, but with all that hair it's hard to say. Her nipples (near her hind legs) seem like they are filling out, but the others seem fairly flat. Her stomach does feel pretty firm/tight. Would she be showing more obviously by now if she were pregnant (she'd be 2 days shy of 7 weeks)? Or could it be a small litter?

Please...no comments on how they should be spayed/neutered or how aweful I am. All of her puppies (if there are any) will have a loving home with us. She is well cared for and I have delivered puppies before. Serious answers only please. Thanks you!

When will a pregnant dog start showing?

Poms are so petite, their "litters" may be 1-3 max in my experience. Their gestation period is about 63 days plus/minus, but pups are so tiny it may be difficult to know for certain. Vet can do palpation on her abdomen and perhaps tell or, a quick ultra-sound can let you know if she is and how many pups as well. Good luck.

When will a pregnant dog start showing?

Now

When will a pregnant dog start showing?

by now it is pregant it might be a smaller litter because they are pretty small dogs

When will a pregnant dog start showing?

it will start showing like in the first month

When will a pregnant dog start showing?

u will b able 2 tell because they will start panting

A LOT!!!!

When will a pregnant dog start showing?

It is possible that she has a very small litter (one or two pups) and isn't showing much. It's also possible that she's having a false pregnancy which can show all of the signs other than getting big. From personnal experience and a solid week of staying up every night, I suggest going on to the vet and find out for sure. We always have ours checked about half way through, but a few months ago, we had an unfortunate incident with a car that ran a stop sign and slammed us, the night before our appointment for her xray. This caused us to be unable to go, until it was close to her due date, so I just decided to watch her closely. Mistake.Mistake.Mistake. I dealt with the appearance of onset of labor for days and days with all signs (digging, temp drop, milk, licking, mucus drainage and so on),,,,,but no real labor. We finally did suck it up and go on to the vet, and of course no puppies. Never again will I push off the xray , if I have to drag my beaten body out the door into a taxi to get to the vet. Not having to worry and wonder from now until after her due date would be worth your 60 bucks.

Are you pleased or frustrated with you MICROFIBER furniture?

I bought mine about three months ago and between children and dogs I've come to the conclusion that I threw away $2,000.

I havn't been able to remove simple stains, dog hairs cling like they are glued on.

I have never had these problems before with other furniture.

Guess my next step is to call a professional cleaner and then give it to the Salvation Army (at least a tax deduction).

PLEASE if you have any solutions for this problem or if you have a similar problem respond! It will be greatly appreciated.

Are you pleased or frustrated with you MICROFIBER furniture?

Just so you know what's next - the piped edges of the arms will soon become shiny and black. Frustrated and already canned mine at the ripe old age of 1 year and 7 months. It was worth every thousand I spent to replace it.

Are you pleased or frustrated with you MICROFIBER furniture?

I have a recliner with micro fiber, we have 3 kids, 2 dogs and 2 cats and we have not had any problems with it. My baby has spit up on it so many times and we just wipe it up with a damp cloth and vaccum the hair off when we do the floors. My two year is also spilling stuff on it constantly. Maybe yours didnt have a scotch guard on it?? I also use to clean for a family that had 4 extremely messy boys and dogs and it always was fine. If you have it cleaned have them scotch guard it and see if that helps.

Are you pleased or frustrated with you MICROFIBER furniture?

My furniture came with a cleaning kit, the fabric cleaner works really well, but I have managed to get any stains almost right away. It has removed everything from pen, baby throw up and even coffee. I have a pomeranian, his hair sticks just like you said, I found a giant sized lint roller at Target which works great. It has those removable sticky sheets and they get his hair up great. Good luck, I hope this helps.

What is the best dog breed to own?

I live in a town house and work all day but can come home for lunch and I'm usually back at home by 5pm. I want something with short hair that's not too yappy. Any suggestions?

What is the best dog breed to own?

Definitely a Boston Terrier....They are great companion dogs. They are short haired and not yappy at all. They are true couch potatoes and I've never seen a destructive Boston. A plus is you have 3 sizes from which to choose: light weight, medium weight and heavy weight.

If you don't like Bostons, French Bulldogs are also great apartment dogs. Generally they both have good dispositions.

Whatever breed you choose, make sure you do some research on that breed so you know the AKC standard. Also, purchase the puppy from a reliable breeder who loves their particular breed and doesn't just breed many breeds for bucks. A dog is a long investment.....you get what you pay for.

I don't breed dogs, but I've had both breeds as pets and several of my clients have them as well.

What is the best dog breed to own?

a chihuahua

What is the best dog breed to own?

labordoodle. all the fun pf a lab, without the shedding.

What is the best dog breed to own?

cockapoo (mutt)

What is the best dog breed to own?

i raise chihuahuas ..they are awesome house dogs../some of them can be a little yappy but if you get it while it is a puppy and train it that it stays home some by itself then it will be fine..i have had my baby chihuahua for six yearss he goes on vacation with me and everything.. i take him to hotels with no problems ..also they are not very hiper .....

What is the best dog breed to own?

I've always owned labs and cockers. I find they're both great dogs, neither are yappy. The cockers do require some grooming-brushing and clipping, whereas the labs are easier in that regard. They both live in the house and are great companions to one another. They both do like to chew, especially as pups, so make sure they have some toys, or you'll lose some shoes! I've never had trouble with either the labs or cockers barking when they're alone, either.

What is the best dog breed to own?

1st of all you might want to get 2 dogs, cause your leaving one alone all day is mean. hes going to get board and tear stuff up then youll get mad . a pair of yorkies would be good

What is the best dog breed to own?

Adopt one ...make it his/her day...who say it's a dog life...didn't live one...God bless!

What is the best dog breed to own?

get a geat dane. i know you're thinking a giant in a smaller house. they actually make pretty good apartment dogs because they are fairly laid back. they have large bladders so they can wait longer to go outside. people tend to refer to them as couch potatoes as they spend most of their time laying around sleeping. they do like to play but it's not constant. they are not yappers. they only bark when they feel that someone they don't know is trying to come into your house. they are very loving and a lot of fun to have. good luck with your search for the perfect dog.

What is the best dog breed to own?

um...a boston terrier or pug

yorki/poodel mix?

What is the best dog breed to own?

Check your local rescue. They care more about the animals than petstores or shelters and most breeders. They will want the pet to be the best fit so that it doesn't have to be returned and loose its home. Many rescued pets are kept in volunteers homes and they will know if that pet will work for your situation. In most cases you can even have them bring the pet to your house for an introduction before making a commitment. If this goes well you may even be able to get a week to have the pet in your home with out the foster to make sure it also works for the two of you.

And the most important if that pet doesn't work you don't have to feel guilty that they may euthanize the pet. Rescues are no kill and will find each pet its perfect home not just someplace to go and to make money.

What is the best dog breed to own?

First of all it is good to see a potential pet owner seeking advice before rushing out and buying/adopting the first cute little thing that steals their heart!!

I would say to stay away from really high energy dogs like Jack Russels, only because cooped up all day can result in some behavior problems. Pugs - at leat the ones I know are fairtly laid back, have short hair, and not really barky. just a suggestion though.

What is the best dog breed to own?

a Boston Terrier (I have one, soon to be 2)

www.bostonterrierclubofcanada.com

go to that link for some information about the breed.

whatever you do though, don't buy one from a pet store, you most likely will end up buying a dog that has a ton of medical problems. seek out a reputable breeder (i can help you locate one in your area, just e-mail me)

What is the best dog breed to own?

Go to a shelter, see who speaks to your heart. That is the best one to have. Those dogs are dying for a home.

What is the best dog breed to own?

a short haired mini dachshund. They are small and do not bark to much. THey are also cute and very smart.

What is the best dog breed to own?

Mutts are the best companions, I truly believe that the smaller the dog, the more loving!

I have a Min-pin/rat terrier, (you can see her in my Yahoo! 360) and she is the best dog I have ever had!

Yes, I have had full blooded, and mixed. And mixed are healthier, they have not been inbred as much!

loj

What is the best dog breed to own?

Consider adopting a retired racing greyhound. They are great dogs in small spaces as they are a very low-energy breed. At home they can sleep 18-20 hours per day and do very well in working homes as they will sleep while you are out and be up when you are home. They are perfectly happy getting all of their excersise from leash walking. No yapping here, it is very rare for greyhounds to bark. They are a single-coated short haired breed and their skin is not oily so they don't have that 'dog' smell. For more information on the breed, or to locate an adoption group in your area check out http://www.greyhoundpets.org

Do people dye their dogs different colors? How do you do that?

I just came accross this article where people in CA dye the dog's hair pink and purple and blue... what product is safe for dogs?

Do people dye their dogs different colors? How do you do that?

I have some friends who use easter egg dye on their white cat every year at easter - she really comes out bright, and not pastel. They do it every year, and it lasts for a few weeks. Don't worry - the cat seems nonchalant about the whole thing when they do it - they just paint it on her.

Do people dye their dogs different colors? How do you do that?

Kool aid is the safe way and it washes out. Report It

Do people dye their dogs different colors? How do you do that?

KOOLAID WITHOUT THE SUGAR... I THINK YOU JUST MIX IT WITH WATER AND SOAK THEM IN IT...BUT DOGS ARE MEANT TO LOOK LIKE DOGS, NOT SOME CRAZY FAD.. THE Y HAVE FEELINGS TOO AND IT IS A BIT DEMEANING DON'T YA THINK.

Do people dye their dogs different colors? How do you do that?

If your dog has white hair, you can use food coloring.

Do people dye their dogs different colors? How do you do that?

yeah i've seen that as well.

i'm quite sure that it is a safe thing and not harmful to the dog.

groomers can do it but i'm sure you'd have to take them somewhere special b/c i don't think all groomers do it.

Do people dye their dogs different colors? How do you do that?

In CA people do many strange and stupid things. This being one of them. I haven't heard of it but on the save side you can practice with food coloring. But read the labor to make sure it doesn't have bad ingredients in it. Also, they sell different color temporary, washable hair color. It's not a dye but I am not sure what it contains.

Good luck. Poor puppy :)

Do people dye their dogs different colors? How do you do that?

My nephew colors his white poodles hair with markers

stupid I know but he is 11

Do people dye their dogs different colors? How do you do that?

yes people can dye there dogs a differentt color...

its quite expensive..but you can go to something like a petsco and you'll see wat they can do

Do people dye their dogs different colors? How do you do that?

Food coloring is often used. Some people use Kool-Aid

http://www.wasabiland.com/wasabi.html

Others use pastel chalk.

Do people dye their dogs different colors? How do you do that?

Why would you want to expose your poor dog to hair dye. It would dry their skin out and make them itchy. Hey just because people in CA are doing it does it make it right. I mean they don't mind living in a shaake and bake area would you want to live down there with the threat of earthquakes. I am not dissing on people from CA. Just trying to make a point to this person that if someone else does it, does it make it right. There are sadistic people who torture animals does that make it right? There are also people who sacrifice animals , does that it make it right for you to do it? Have a mind of your own and please do not dye the poor doggie, for his/her sake.

Do people dye their dogs different colors? How do you do that?

Yeah, but I think it's dopey to do that. You can safely use food coloring - just don't get it in the eyes or ears.

Do people dye their dogs different colors? How do you do that?

I have never heard of such a freakish idea but one can use regular people's hair dye....

I noticed that my dog was scratching her face alot,?

she also has missing hair around her eyes. and also around her mouth and nose.. on the top of her nose was a very hard scab. i am thinking of somethings that might have happened to her.. a.) she got bit by something and just cant stop scratching or b.) she is having allergies c.) she as somekind of mites.. however i dont want this to spread to my other animals. she also has lost her happiness. she weighs around 30lbs but i've only been giving her 1tspn of childrens benadryl. what do you think it is?

I noticed that my dog was scratching her face alot,?

fleas or ticks.

give your dog a bath once a week.

and put some flea and tick medicine on her.

she will be happy afterwards.

trust me.

I noticed that my dog was scratching her face alot,?

Could be ringworm ( a funfal infection), Mites, or allergies. She needs to go to the doctor for some testing and relief.

I noticed that my dog was scratching her face alot,?

It coulb be a number of things...allergies seem highly likely. Go to the vet to get it sorted out!

I noticed that my dog was scratching her face alot,?

It's time for the vet! Only they can look at the dog and give you an actual diagnosis. They can give you medicine to help take care of the problem.

I noticed that my dog was scratching her face alot,?

Why the benadryl? Talk to your vet about this. It sounds a lot like a food allergy to me. Dogs can be allergic to so many different things but the most common thing is corn. Get a food that doesn't have corn in it like Purina Pro Plan Select or Chicken Soup. These are excellent quality foods that may help. Still recommend a vet visit as well though.

I noticed that my dog was scratching her face alot,?

Probably allergies

I noticed that my dog was scratching her face alot,?

Mites, or allergies

I noticed that my dog was scratching her face alot,?

Probably ticks or fleas. Bathe your dog twice a week and if it's confirmed that it's ticks/fleas, use tick/flea removing powder.

I noticed that my dog was scratching her face alot,?

she might be having allergies

bring her to the vet asap

OH yeah another thing....?

Can I use a blow hair drier to dry my dogs hair?

OH yeah another thing....?

On low heat if she/he tolerates it

OH yeah another thing....?

YES!

OH yeah another thing....?

It will not hurt her many dogs like it

OH yeah another thing....?

Of course! If they sit there long enough, and if the noise doen't scare them!!!

OH yeah another thing....?

Yes, but be careful because they can get hot. Keep the hair dryer moving around.

Bear in mind some dogs just don't like the dryer. They can be scary (like little vacuum cleaners near their head). In which case you may be resigned to towel drying

OH yeah another thing....?

As long as it is not too hot you can, but be very careful that it is just warm and will not burn the dog, as they can be very sensitive.

OH yeah another thing....?

YES, our dog loves it....just don't hold it too close to him/her so you don't burn him/her.

OH yeah another thing....?

You can, but you have to be careful. Dogs can overheat a lot easier than people, so use a low heat setting, keep it moving, and watch for any signs that it is getting too hot. If you notice he is getting too hot, then just stop for a minute and let him cool down.

OH yeah another thing....?

Yes, but be sure to keep it on a low heat setting. Not all dogs tolerate it though.

OH yeah another thing....?

Yeah if it doesnt scare them. At our clinic we and our groomer had a huge dryer that looked like an old fashion vaccuum and a cage dryer. They both work good. At home I use my hair dryer on low heat but my golden hates it because 1) she hates things blowing air on her, 2) she hates the noise, and 3) she has long hair and takes forever to dry so she has to hear it and feel it longer than my other dog. Good luck

OH yeah another thing....?

Show dogs are blow dried allllllllllllll the time.

OH yeah another thing....?

Oh yes you can I do it on my dog all the time. Just keep it moving. It makes their fur smoother and softer. My dog has dandruff so drying it with a hair drying helps it a little.

OH yeah another thing....?

OH yeah another thing....?

of couse you can!

just sometimes they dont like it blown in their face! it can dry their nose.

OH yeah another thing....?

I do, you do have to watch the dog to make sure it doesn't freak them out. My dog doesn't like the noise. Drying with a blow drier is much faster and thorough than hand drying, after a bath.

Do you remember my dog had a PINK fang? Update...?

We took him back to the vets to the nurse and she says it is not the right colour for a pulpal bleed or an abcess as there is no other symptom at all...

She is looking up anything else it could be as this is the first time they have seen anything like it. They are a well established vets... now Borris does also have pinky coloured neck hair and they think it could be just colouration of the enamel.. like we have yellowy enamel or milky coloured teeth?

Anyway - I have to keep brushing and every day check for other symptoms. No question really - I just wanted to update you all - thank you.

Do you remember my dog had a PINK fang? Update...?

Change vets, get a second opinion, please, for the dog's sake. I'm a vet "nurse" and I can't diagnose, all I do is get the history and pass on the doctor's orders. I remember from the last question it seemed to be gettng more apparent that the color was off...to me this would indicate that the condition is worsening? Doesn't matter how well-established the vet is, if they have any confidence in their diagnosis at all, they'll agree to a second opinion, if only to prove to themselves they were right. And a good vet will also admit when they're have no clue, and will also have no problem with a referral...you shouldn't have to ask for one, the vet should suggest that.

Do you remember my dog had a PINK fang? Update...?

What!?

Do you remember my dog had a PINK fang? Update...?

The nurse is not a vet; she is just repeating whats in his notes. Go and get a second opinion at another surgery.

Do you remember my dog had a PINK fang? Update...?

Thanks for the update.

I've had dogs for years and never come across your dog's condition before!

We just never stop learning!

Somethings up with my dog! HELP!?

On his lower back he has areas where his hair is almost completely gone, and their are rashes and scabs. Could it be mange? We don`t have enough money for the Vet right now, so what could I give him so that his skin and fir will go back to normal?

Somethings up with my dog! HELP!?

take him to the local ASPCA or Humane Society...sometimes they have referals for free or reduced price vet clinics

Somethings up with my dog! HELP!?

You'll need to see the Vet for a proper diagnosis - maybe you can set up payments or put the charges on a credit card?

Somethings up with my dog! HELP!?

Go to Petco and ask for a dip that is for dogs that are losing hair and they will set you up!

Somethings up with my dog! HELP!?

my dog had dry skin and that is what you kind of describing my dog had that hair loss too try giving him/her a bath with good dog shampoo and conditioner for dry skin i hope this helps out

Somethings up with my dog! HELP!?

Does your dog have fleas? It could be caused by irritation due to fleas too. I'd suggest you call around and find a Vet who will let you make payments because whether mange or flea irritation, you need products to treat your dog effectively.

Somethings up with my dog! HELP!?

Well when my dog had that problem she was biting at that area because of fleas so if your dog has fleas you should try Setinel its a pill given once a month and it works through the bloodstream it kills the adult fleas so they dont reproduce you should also bath him in Adams its a shampoo that has menthol in it that kills fleas also. I ffind that Frontline Plus is a waste of money I have tried it and it didnt do anything for my dog. Good Luck

Somethings up with my dog! HELP!?

You will need to see a vet i believe, is there any free services such as the PDSA (In Uk) where you are?

If not then could you set up some kind of payment plan with the vet?

Without a vet diagnosis it would be hard to know what it is and what the right thing to put on it is. You don't want to use something based on what you (or someone who is not qualified) thinks it is because it could be the wrong thing and you could end up making it worse (in which case you will then have to go to the vet and it'll likely be more expensive).

Look around at vet's in your area and see if any offer a payment plan or something similar. That's likely the only thing you can do that doesn't have the risk of making it worse. Good luck.

Somethings up with my dog! HELP!?

Try looking up on the web and see if you see any similarities of what your dog has (google) I love it. It may just be whats called hot spots the dog is rubbing licking or biting him self bald because of some kind of discomfort bath him if it is not mange, if it is GET him or her to the vet mange is continuous to humans and other dogs.

Somethings up with my dog! HELP!?

if you have a SPCA call them immediately and let them know what is happening with your dog and that you don't have enough money to go to your regular vet, they will help you by providing free or low-cost vet car for you pet. Also don't try to do something without consulting a vet you may make things worse.

It seems like my dog is growing backwards..?

My boyfriend %26amp; I bought a beagle in December. He is now 5 months old. When we first got him, we trained him pretty well to do his business on newspaper in a corner of our livingroom. Now, he will be standing anywhere, and just does it right there. Also, everytime we call him, he thinks he's in trouble, so he crouches down, and just rolls over onto his back. He's also been pooping in the bathroom and rolling around in it while we are at work. So basically it's everywhere.

He also has a rash or something of that sort on his back which is causing hair loss.

Help!

It seems like my dog is growing backwards..?

First, neuter your dog. This will cut down on the inappropriate urination. Second, buy a crate and crate-train your dog. This will help with potty training. As for the hair loss, you need to see a Vet to determine what is going on there.

It seems like my dog is growing backwards..?

He could have a skin disorder and the rolling in his crap could be instinct. Go to a vet!

It seems like my dog is growing backwards..?

My puppy went backwards when something was wrong with her, which is probably your dog's deal. take him to get checked out, and put on some antibiotics. after the skin infection clears up he should be back to normal. you'll just have to really reinforce the rules.

Manic Panic for dogs?

Has anyone tried manic panic on their dog's hair? I've heard it works well and doesn't hurt the dog.

Manic Panic for dogs?

No I haven't. I used Kool-aid and food coloring for the 4th of July. It worked well, but I would never do it again. No particular reason - just didn't look as "cute" as I thought she would.

Manic Panic for dogs?

People are breeding designer breeds because they are treating them as accessories! Just because people are doing it doesnt make it right. Report It

Manic Panic for dogs?

Don't use human product on dogs...

Manic Panic for dogs?

Don't do it. Doesn't matter if it hurts them or not. Just don't.

Manic Panic for dogs?

i havent tried it, but there are pictures of dogs that have been dyed with it on the website. I personally think its kinda mean though. But its up to you if you want to do it.

Manic Panic for dogs?

Leave the chemicals off your dog. I have used Kool-Aid (without the sugar!!!). But for the best bright pink color, here's the cheapest way of all: go get a cheap can of beets, eat or toss the beets and color your dog outside with the juice. Don't get it in their eyes or near the rear. Let it dry, but beware it can come off if your dog licks itself.

Manic Panic for dogs?

Why in the world would you do that to your dog? Animals are pets not accessories.

Manic Panic for dogs?

Is that toxic in any way if a dog would lick it? Considering people don't lick their hair.. it could be harmful.

If you want to color a dog, you can use cake coloring which works on white dogs. It is non-toxic. People used to dye white dogs all the time, mostly poodles with white or light coats. I don't see the big deal for or against color though I wouldn't personally use it on my dogs and I wouldn't use anything that had any chance of being toxic to dogs. Neither would I use even non-toxic color on any dog with any kind of skin condition or sensitive skin.

They say some dogs gain weight after alterning?

My poor pooch gained a ton of weight after his neutering, He weighed in at ten pounds when he went for his neuter, I took him to the vet a week and a half later and he had already gained over a pound, thats alot for a small dog. His hair dried out and he is now around 16 pounds less than a year later. People will accuse me of overfeeding etc, but the dog isnt free fed and I can assure you he eats no more than he ate prior to the neutering.I think they removed his thyroid instead of his testicles!!!!!!!!! Has this happened to anybody else out there?

They say some dogs gain weight after alterning?

Most dogs who are neutered gain weight I don't know why? Both of my neutered dogs are overweight My vet told me to put them on a diet. You can buy diet dog food and give them carrots for treats. Needless to say my dog looked at me like I was crazy when I handed him a carrot. I just figure it makes them better dogs when they are neutered and they have a happier plump life.

Cat having dog-like behavior?

I'm not asking if this is normal, I just want to know if it is common. I recently adopted an oriental short hair female kitten. Beyond being a very sociable cat (which is caracteristic of the breed), she has a very funny habit. She will take a toy in her mouth and actually GROWL if you try to take it from her. And it is not aggressive !!! She is just playing !

Any of you people have seen this with your cat ?

Cat having dog-like behavior?

This is normal. Especially in females, because it is in their blood to hunt food for their kittens. She is showing you that this is her prize. If you have ever seen a cat catch a mouse, then try to take the mouse from the cat....it is the same behavior.

Cat having dog-like behavior?

well before you adopted the cat she could of been near dogs and because she's a kitten she'll learn a lot of stuff from any thing she See's. my cat acts like a dog but when he was a kitten we had a dog so it's probably just that. without it's mother it just learns from dogs. (when me and my mum go for walks my cat follows as.)

Cat having dog-like behavior?

Very common to all cats pure bred or not, and yes she's just playing.

We have four cats who are DSH and were all stray at one time in their lives.

Three females and one male and all four of them do this.

The male and one of the females will even play fetch with you.

Cat having dog-like behavior?

i just wanted to let you know your not alone lol i have two female kittens and they insist on acting like dogs, its funny they will sit at the front door and growl at people walking by and they do the same with there toys, its so cute. normal i dont know but cute it is for sure

Cat having dog-like behavior?

My cat does that as well. She also 'barks' at birds and other animals. But then again, she also scales the wall on her side.

Cat having dog-like behavior?

Don't try to take away a toy from a child. Cats do like anything taken away from them.

Cat having dog-like behavior?

Our 8 month old kittie has a similar dog-like behavior too. Well, more of a trick tho. I throw a ball, she catches it and brings it back to me. We never taught her that.

It's fun tho!

Cat having dog-like behavior?

no

Pug question?

Hi i was recommending a pug to my friend, who really wants a dog, and i dont think that a shedder like my Golden retriever would suit her because her mom hates dog hairs on the carpets. I gave her my dog book to see, but can anyone tell me more about pugs, like how they are and stuff. Thanks Kata and Louisa

Pug question?

why dont u go with the dog recommended?

glen of imaal t.s dont shed much, dont need alot of exercise and

are totally cool with kids...

if u want pugs then.. here -

Pug question?

i luv dogs.u can use the above link to find more about doggies.

Pug question?

pugs shed a lot

Pug question?

Hi,

I breed and show pugs. Pugs are fun family pets. However, they shed. So if a non shedding pet is needed then unfortunately a pug would not be the best choice.

Personality wise, pugs love being with you, all the time. They are goofy, crazy for food, and affectionate. Some seem very intelligent and some, not so much. But they are so generous as a breed and get along great with other pugs and other pets.

Hope that helps a bit.

Pug question?

A Pug is a toy dog breed with a wrinkly face and medium-small body. Pug puppies are often called Puglets. The word "pug" may have come from the Old English pugg, which was an affectionate term for a playful little devil or monkey.

The breed is often summarized as multum in parvo ("much in little"), describing the Pug's great personality and small size

Pets/allergies?

My sister has bad asthma-She had it for years-She bought a cocker spaniel dog 7 months ago- she dosent know if its co incidental are not but now her asthma and breathing have got worse can the dog hairs make it worse she loves the dog but needs a answer

Pets/allergies?

Try putting the dog on a rice/lamb food. NutroMax is available at any pet superstore. It does great things for a dog's coat and lowers the antigens in the dander.

Give doggie a bath in mild soap and water. Clipping the pooch may also give her some relief but it isn't the hair that's the problem, it's the dander.

There are breeds that are worse for allergies than others. My purebred chihuahua never set off my allergies unless he rolled in clover. My chihuahua/dachshund mix sets off my allergies if I don't keep him bathed.

There also may be issues with any product used on the dog like flea powder or the shampoo she's using. I'm afraid that this may be a lengthy process but if she loves the dog then it is worth it.

Best of luck to her!

Pets/allergies?

Sure dog hairs can set off asthma but before she gets rid of the doggie have her take a look around the house .If she has carpet tell her to make sure its vaccumed at least twice a day. Certain cleaners can set off asthma such as bleach or other cleaners. Glade plug in and perfumed house plugins can also set it off. An depending on where she lives the pollen might be quite high which can also set it off. Maybe she can go to her doctor and have her asthma meds adjusted. My hubby has severe asthma and even certain cooking spices can set it off.

Pets/allergies?

Oh, that is sad!

Yes, dog hair can make allergies worse. Especially if she was already allergic to pet hair and dander.

She can try feeding him a high-quality food to lessen the shedding, and keeping him very clean. I'm not holding forth much hope that that will work, but it might.

Good luck to your sister!

Stop my Dalmation Dog from shedding so much!!!?

What can I do short of shaving my dalmation to make her stop shedding so much? Or does anyone know a good product to clean up after her? We have hardwood floors and carpet and as of now I use a vacuum (Dyson Pet) and a Swifter Wet Jet and then I end up on my hands and knees with a damp rag getting all the hair everything else missed. It lasts 2 minutes until she walks past me and the floor is covered again. I do brush her outside everyday, but that doesn't seem to help.

Stop my Dalmation Dog from shedding so much!!!?

Try the furminator! Its amazing!! It really works well. Try buying one on Ebay... make sure its says new and in the package. Also be careful of the swiffer wet jet. I have heard the chemical causes liver damage to dogs.

Stop my Dalmation Dog from shedding so much!!!?

All dogs shed even a little bit, except the poodle. During summer they start loosing their fur, but it could be something else. Dogs' fur falls out when they have bad nutrition and feeding the dog table scraps will do just that. Try switching to a better food. I recommend Pedigree. Its not on the recall list and it makes all my dogs' coat shine :) The shedding will stop soon, just give her a good brush 1 or 2 times a day, but DO NOT SHAVE HER! The fur wont grow back right, and its bad for a dalmatian anyway because they have pink skin and will get sun burned. Dalmatians have short fur anyway, but since its summer, all you can do is give her brushes, keep cleaning, or change her dog food if shes not getting proper nutrition. Aviod treats and table scraps.

-----

Also, forgot to add this: only use shampoo for dogs, and give a dog at least 2 weeks until its next one. Sometimes dogs can be allergic to things, also. I had a friend who had a dog who was allergic to grass. She had nasty skin and looked like a hairless rat because it fell out. Allergies come and go though, but I'd talk to your vet.

Stop my Dalmation Dog from shedding so much!!!?

Try the vitamin supplements for dogs that contain omega 3 oils and vitamin E that may help, or use Natuaral Balance dog food which already has those ingredients in it. Also always use shampoos that are formulated for dogs. People shampoos are not ph balance for dogs and may cause additional skin problems and shedding. Brushing the dog a couple of times a week may help remove loose hair before it falls off into your house. Of course you will want to do your brushing outside.

Good luck

Stop my Dalmation Dog from shedding so much!!!?

I'm afraid you are stuck w/the prob. Dalmations are like most other dogs - they shed!! If you think Dal's shed, you are lucky you don't have an Akita - they have a triple coat!! Now, if you owned a Poodle, you would not only have a dog that doesn't shed but is hypo-allergenic %26amp; is 10 x's more intelligent than a Dal. So I guess you can get back on your hands %26amp; knees again. LOL

Stop my Dalmation Dog from shedding so much!!!?

If you already brush her everyday then there's not much else you can do really but wait for her to be done blowing coat.

Trying to get *all* the dog hair off the floor is futile as you've probably figured out..I use the vacuum and a regular Swiffer to get up most of it though.

Stop my Dalmation Dog from shedding so much!!!?

try using a slicker brush, that will get a lot more hair out.

change to a qaulity food - California Natural or Canidae.

I need a vacuum for my 2100 sq ft home that has all ceramic tile and hard wood floors.?

i have two dogs and two cats and I need a good vacuum that will suck up all the cat hair and dogs hair and does not need to be emptied every two minutes. I thin i might want a canister vacuum. Any one have any ideas or experience.

I need a vacuum for my 2100 sq ft home that has all ceramic tile and hard wood floors.?

My downstairs is completely tiled. I have 2 cats and 1 crawling baby. I use the Swiffer vac. Picks up the hair great and is inexpensive. I do have to empty it after every room but it only takes a second. Also plugs into the wall, so no replacing batteries all the time. I really love this!!!

I need a vacuum for my 2100 sq ft home that has all ceramic tile and hard wood floors.?

I would get the Dyson Animal - DC17 Animal. We have dogs and a cat and this is what we found best.

www.dyson.com

I am not sure how much you want to spend but these are Brand new at $549.99 at places like Kohles. We bought ours slightly used, almost new condition off ebay for about half that price.

Canister that just pops off and push a button and dumps out of canister into gabage. Best parts are it is the best vacum we have ever owned and we did pay a little more than usual but we never have to buy bags again. Hover will sell you a cheep vacum knowing you will be bringing them money every month for bags for it.

Good Luck.

I need a vacuum for my 2100 sq ft home that has all ceramic tile and hard wood floors.?

Yes. Most every standard home vacuum might be able to pick up marbles, screws, and some will even pick up a bowling ball. You are not trying to pick up a bowling ball though. Hair is a completely different animal(pardon the pun)entirely. Hair, especially "stiffer" types of hair found on dogs, will clog every vacuum I have ever seen. Regarding vacuums, I would recommend a "whole-house canister" system. You will then have access to vacuuming the entire home without dragging cords and machinery around. The "ports" for the hose are located in strategic locations throughout the home with a hose located at each "port". A much cheaper alternative would be to forget the vacuum and purchase a dust mop(s)to take care of the floors. One for the wood floors which would have a slightly oily wood cleaner and the other specific to the ceramic tile. That's the best I can do, hope it helps.

I need a vacuum for my 2100 sq ft home that has all ceramic tile and hard wood floors.?

Go to a vac shop. Tell them you want a canister vacuum and that you have hard floors and 4 furry animals. They will help you decide what is best for you. They will even do a demonstration if you want. (That's what I did! I've had my canister vac for 10 years, with 7 people living in the house!)
